MAHAULEPU BEACH GUIDE
Mahaulepu Beach is one of the most beautiful and secluded beaches on Kauai. It’s a great place for swimming, sunbathing, and snorkeling. The beach is also home to some amazing wildlife, including sea turtles and monk seals. If you’re looking for a relaxing day at the beach, Mahaulepu Beach is definitely worth checking out!
Getting to Mahaulepu Beach
Getting here requires a hike because the main access road has been closed. Park or get dropped off at Shipwreck Beach and take the trailhead that starts from the east side of the beach. Depending on your pace, you can reach this beach anywhere from 1-3 hours.
Mahaulepu Heritage Trail
The Mahaulepu Heritage Trail is a great way to see some of the amazing scenery that Kauai has to offer. The trailhead is located near the south shore of the island, and the trail takes you through some of the most beautiful parts of Kauai. Along the way, you’ll see stunning cliffs, rushing waterfalls, and lush green forests.
The trail is also a great place to see some of the island’s wildlife, including Hawaiian monk seals and Hawaiian green sea turtles. And if you’re lucky, you might even spot a humpback whale! The Mahaulepu Heritage Trail is a must-do for anyone visiting Kauai.
The trail is about 2 miles each way, and relatively easy.
